I enjoyed doing the assignment more then the first because it gave my group the chance to analyze a certain organization. My group and I decided to analyze the American Red Cross Association. This organization was extremely interesting. I learned a lot new things about the Red Cross. For example how they are always the first to be on scene. This assignment helped me understand the concepts clearly. It shows how the Red Cross use emotional appeal, fallacies, advertisement, and more in this company. It was extremely helpful because we were able to break it down by artifact and focus on one at a time. It helps us dig into the concept a lot better. Everyone in my group was able to participate and this made the assignment far more enjoyable. I felt that this assignment was far more successful then the first because it gave everyone a chance to contribute to each artifact. Overall I learned about organizations and the uses certain techniques within the organization.
I think you made a typo! I’m sure you meant to say “Assignment number 2” in the first sentence. Anyways, I think the second assignment is very useful as well. The second course assignment allowed all of us to understand the concepts more that were covered throughout this semester. It definitely gave me a better understand since I had to research more about the different organization. You should have explained a bit about what the American Red Cross Association is really about, even though it is kind of obvious but it seems interesting to know more about the organization! Other than that, nice post.

I like the second group assignment better and I find it more useful because I learned more about the organization PETA(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Also, this assignment really gave us, students, the opportunity to put the lessons we have learned in class into work which really helped, in my opinion, because I understood how and when to accept or suspend judgment on claims better. Like you said, this assignment was far more enjoyable than the first one because every single member of the group got to analyze some organizations and learn about those organizations more. Good post.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that the second group assignment was more interesting and easier to understand than the first group assignment. I feel like we were more able to exercise the concepts we learned in this class in our group essays through analyzing the different aspects used by organizations such as emotional appeal, fallacies, and advertisement. And I definitely know what you mean how the breaking down the paper into artifacts was very clear and it helped the group successfully concentrate on one concept at a time. The group assignment also helped me realize that these are the types of things most organizations use in order to be successful.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this assignment allowed for more participation within the groups. Before this assignment I really had no clue about how organizations function and all the communicational components needed for an organization to be successful. I am a constantly following celebrity news and who is the face of what so that aspect of the paper did not really shock me as means of getting the name and basis of the organization out to society, but I had no idea as far as emotional appeal, reasonings, fallacies, etc. go. I now realize how important and crucial those aspects are to the success of companies with support as well as functions.
